The Sonoris Parallel Equalizer is a versatile minimum phase parametric equalizer available in VST, VST3, AU, AAX, and RTAS formats for both Windows and Mac. This plugin is ideal for mixing and mastering, featuring fixed filter types across each band with bands 2 to 6 connected in parallel. The filters utilize a feedback/feedforward design, allowing for precise cutting and boosting similar to analog graphic equalizers. Bands 1 and 7 serve as low and high cuts, respectively, and are connected in series with the other bands.

Parallel Filter Topology

One of the standout features of this equalizer is its subtlety, requiring careful adjustment due to the interaction between bands. Unlike traditional series-connected equalizers where gains simply add up, the parallel configuration offers a more nuanced approach. This design means that activating multiple boosts, such as a low shelf and a low frequency bell, results in minimal additional impact, encouraging a more thoughtful setup process. Furthermore, the cleaner signal path ensures that all filters operate on the same input, maintaining correct gain up to Nyquist.

Processing Modes
